Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Case A and Case B?

Each case holds 12 meals. Case A has menus 1–12 and Case B has menus 13–24, so buying one of each gives you all 24 menus.

How many calories are in an MRE?

The Defense Logistics Agency describes each MRE as providing about 1,250 calories on average. It varies by menu — check the package label for exact nutrition and allergen information.

How long do MREs last?

Storage temperature matters more than anything else. The Defense Logistics Agency gives a shelf life of three years at 80°F; cooler storage extends it and heat shortens it. Store cases somewhere cool and dry and inspect pouches before use. We don't promise a fixed shelf life because it depends on how the meals are stored.

What is an inspection or test date?

Some cases show an inspection/test date. It marks when the lot is due to be evaluated — it is not an expiration date.

How much does shipping cost?

Military MREs ship free within the U.S. — no code needed. Other preparedness items ship at the rate shown at checkout before you pay. Pallets ship by freight; contact us with your ZIP code if you have delivery questions.

Can I order for a business, school or organization?

Yes. Full pallets can be ordered online, and you can request a quote for custom quantities, invoicing or freight planning.

Do MREs need water?

The food itself is ready to eat. The flameless heater uses a small amount of water, and drink mixes need water too — keep drinking water in your plan.

Can I return food items?

Please see our refund policy for which items can be returned and how.
